COVID-19 Vaccine Access for People with Disabilities

COVID-19; Research and Data

The Kaiser Family Foundation recently released an issue brief, entitled COVID-19 Vaccine Access for People with Disabilities. The issue brief addresses the following questions:

  • What is known about COVID-19 among people with disabilities?
  • How are people with disabilities reflected in state vaccine prioritization plans?
  • What other policy issues will affect access to vaccines for people with disabilities?

This issue brief also presents current state-level data about COVID-19 cases and deaths in settings that primarily serve nonelderly people with disabilities, and summarizes available research on this population’s elevated risk of severe illness and death.
