AHCA/NCAL Insurance Solutions - Employee Health Benefits Program

AHCA/NCAL Insurance Solutions has employee health benefit programs designed with exclusive AHCA/NCAL member savings and discounts for both the fully insured or self-insured member. The program offers health insurance options, voluntary benefit packages, an aggressive Stop-Loss insurance program and a Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) plan.

The
AHCA/NCAL Insurance Solutions Program also offers ACA-compliant comprehensive employee health benefits through our broker Compass Total Benefit Solutions, and is able to work with your existing carrier or any national carrier to secure the best available insurance package for your company. Compass Total Benefit Solutions was named a 2021 “Top Emerging Benefits Administration Company” by Manage HR Magazine

The new AHCA/NCAL Insurance Solutions MEC plan was developed by Compass Total Benefit Solutions and offers AHCA/NCAL members two new affordable options for providing the most commonly utilized health benefits employees want with copays they can afford. The Compass 1 plan costs about $1 per hour for a full-time employee or $161 per month. Employers may pay all, part or none of the monthly premiums. A second plan with higher hospital indemnity payments is available for $182 per month. Spouse, children and family plan options are also available.

The MEC plans were designed to help long term care employees who cannot afford Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant plan premiums or the high deductibles associated with many ACA plans. Even though traditional ACA compliant plans are classified as “affordable,” they are not an option that many long term care employees can afford. These MEC plans give employees affordable access to commonly needed and utilized health benefits at an affordable price with no deductibles. Spouse, children and family plan options are also available.

 Healthcare Academy® ROP & Infection Control Trainings & eCompetencies®

AHCA/NCAL offers two online programs in conjunction with Healthcare Academy®. Each program incorporates a digital competency platform to allow for documentation of live skills demonstration. The digital checklists included in these programs have been designed by industry experts using evidence-based practices to help organizations develop competent and confident staff.

AHCA’s Requirements of Participation eCompetencies® is designed specifically to help skilled nursing facilities comply with F-Tag 726 under CMS’ Requirements of Participation (ROP). AHCA’s ROP eCompetencies® is a comprehensive competency tool that is inter-disciplinary and relevant to all facility staff.

AHCA/NCAL’s Infection Control Certificate Program features five eLearning modules and 5 eCompetencies® focused on infection control. This program also is relevant to all assisted living and skilled nursing facility staff.

Both programs are designed to consistently train and test competency of staff members, and to electronically document staff performance as their learned skills are being evaluated. Reporting functions make it easy to track skill competency by staff member and share that information with state surveyors. The programs can be used on a laptop, I-Pad, and mobile device.

Call (866) 323-4169 or email ahcasales@healthcareacademy.com if you have questions or would like additional information about either program.

 AHCA/NCAL Gero Nurse Prep

Clinical competency is fundamental to value-based purchasing and LTC companies need to demonstrate their clinical strength to be competitive with ACOs, MCOs and their local hospitals. Clinical competency is also important to CMS in annual survey inspections.

AHCA/NCAL Gero Nurse Prep does much more than just prepare RNs to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) board certification exam in gerontological nursing.

It increases RNs’ knowledge of gerontological nursing practice. Gero Nurse Prep students see a whopping 24 percent average increase between their pre- and post-course test scores.

Taking the AHCA/NCAL Gero Nurse Prep course does not obligate a RN to sit for the ANCC Board certification exam. Registered nurses who are interested in increasing their knowledge of gerontological nursing practice can simply complete the AHCA/NCAL Gero Nurse Prep course, receive 30 nursing contact hours, and increase their skills and knowledge of geriatric nursing.

The AHCA/NCAL Gero Nurse prep course thoroughly prepares those RNs who want to take the ANCC Board certification exam in gerontological nursing. Gero Nurse Prep grads have a passing rate of 95 percent on the ANCC exam on their first try. AHCA/NCAL research shows that nursing facilities with at least one ANCC Board certified RN in gerontological nursing have lower rehospitalization rates and lower off-label usage of antipsychotics.

Cleary Energy - Utility Bill Auditing Services

Most long term care facilities are being overcharged for one or more of their utilities. Cleary Energy recoups on average 4% to 8% savings on utilities for long term care facility customers. That’s a significant savings!

Cleary Energy performs utility bill audits by examining utility, supplier and government charges on utility bills to obtain refunds and/or credits and rate reductions. Specifically, Cleary Energy audits a facility’s electric, natural gas, propane, heating oil, diesel fuel, water, sewer and telecommunications bills without adding new expenses to facility budgets.

Cleary Energy guarantees savings or its auditing services are free. Cleary Energy’s fees are based on facility savings on their utility bills. AHCA/NCAL member facilities enter into a shared savings agreement with Cleary Energy that lasts for a period of three years. If no refund, savings or credits are received, AHCA/NCAL members owe nothing and will know with certainty that their facilities are not being overcharged for utilities.

The process for engaging Cleary Energy to conduct a utility audit is easy and most information comes directly from the utilities or suppliers.

Cleary Energy’s long term care experience sets the company apart. That in-depth knowledge of long term care operations enables Cleary Energy to find the greatest costs savings on utility expenses for AHCA/NCAL members because Cleary Energy knows where to look for savings.

Take advantage of this unique no-risk opportunity to save on utility costs.
