Denver, Colo. — Today, the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) officially opened its 74th annual event to recognize and inspire more than 3,000 attendees. Formerly called the AHCA/NCAL Convention and Expo, this year’s event is rebranded as Delivering Solutions 23 to keep the mission of the association—improving lives by delivering solutions for quality care—at the heart of the conference.
This year, the four-day conference takes place at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. The week’s events started today with NCAL Day and Rehab Therapy Day, events specifically curated for assisted living providers and rehabilitation therapists, respectively. The conference will continue Monday with the opening general session featuring keynote speaker Peter Sheahan, known internationally as a top-rated keynote speaker, innovative business thinker and thought leader. Sheahan leads staff in 23 cities across seven countries and will speak to the challenges of growing businesses and organizations in times of change.
“Delivering Solutions 23 is an exciting opportunity to gather diverse perspectives and people on some of the issues most central to the future of our profession,” said Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “This event is an important reminder that AHCA/NCAL is continuing to look for inspirational ways to serve the extraordinary people who work in long term and post-acute care centers across the country. It’s our honor every year to host this event, and I am excited to be in Denver to reaffirm our commitment to celebrating the professionals who provide high quality care to our nation’s seniors every day.”
On Tuesday, the Association will honor long term and post-acute care providers who are on the path toward performance excellence at the Elevating Excellence Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will recognize more than 300 member centers and communities who achieved National Quality Awards, including two elite facilities at the Gold level, as well as recipients of the AHCA/NCAL Awards program, including the Mary K. Ousley Champion of Quality Award, the Jan Thayer Pioneer Award, the AHCA/NCAL Awards Program.
The closing general session on Wednesday will be keynoted by Broadway star Alton Fitzgerald White, who will share his secret of tapping his inner resources to meet the challenge of routine and repetition in work and relationships. He'll share the vital ingredients for sustaining consistent peak performance and success.
“From educational opportunities to networking to simply spending time together, this week’s events are focused on what professionals need to continue to infuse their work with innovation and inspiration,” said Phil Fogg, AHCA Board Chair. “There’s nothing quite like looking out across a room and seeing the faces of the people who are tirelessly devoted to the lives of residents and patients.”
Delivering Solutions 23, the AHCA/NCAL Convention and Expo, which offers more than 100 education sessions and more than 300 exhibitors, runs through Wednesday, October 4.
