As the initial
implementation dates for the new
nondiscrimination in health care rules by the Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Civil Rights (OCR) are here, members are seeking clarification on various components and inclusions within these rules. AHCA/NCAL has developed a
frequently asked questions (FAQ) resource to share responses to these common questions.
This
FAQ resource complements the two resources AHCA/NCAL developed outlining the regulatory impact and implementation dates. Please note that all three resources are exclusive to AHCA/NCAL members (login is required).
As a reminder, these rules apply to federally funded health programs and services, meaning nursing homes and ID/DD providers are subject to these final rules. Assisted living communities could be subject to these rules if they receive federal financial assistance (e.g., through a Medicaid waiver program).
