U.S. Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rep. Bradley Schneider (D-IL) and Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) recently re-introduced the Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act (S. 2759/H.R. 5283). This bill allows for the recapture of unused visas from previous fiscal years for doctors, nurses, and their families. It does not authorize any new visas.
More details can be found in the press statement from Senator Cramer’s office.
Supportive policies like the Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act will help our long-term care centers build a strong pipeline of caregivers by creating more opportunities for international nurses to join our workforce and set them on a path toward long and rewarding careers. AHCA/NCAL again endorses this legislation and will keep its members updated on any relevant updates.
