CMS Posts Revised Technical Specifications for Two SNF QRP Claims-Based Measures

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted revised technical specifications for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Requiring Hospitalization and Discharge to Community-Post Acute Care (DTC-PAC) measures. These reports present the technical specifications for the refined SNF HAI and PTC-PAC measures, including updates to incorporate Medicare Advantage encounter records as a data source in addition to Medicare Fee-for-Service claims. 

The reports include the measure overview and rationale, data sources, stay construction and exclusion criteria, numerator and denominator specifications, risk adjustment approach, measure calculation algorithm, measure results, and measure testing findings.  

CMS notes that additional updates related to the public reporting timeline for the refined measure will be provided at a future date.
