What You Need to Know
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) previously announced the national implementation of the Risk-Based Survey in
QSO-26-14-NH. To further prepare for the national implementation, CMS released the surveyor resources for the RBS on August 13, 2026. The resources are located in the Survey Resources
folder on CMS’s Nursing Home
webpage. Items are included in the folder to assist both surveyors and eligible facilities in preparation for the new survey model. Included in the folder are the following items:

- RBS Facility Tasks Job Aid
