New Resources Available Related to Revised LTC Survey Guidance

​On November 18, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released Revised Long-Term Care (LTC) Surveyor Guidance: Significant revisions to enhance quality and oversight of the LTC Survey Process.​  

The memo included significant changes to guidance in Appendix PP related to the updated regulatory areas.​ The changes will take effect, and surveyors will begin using the revised guidance, on February 24, 2025.   
 
Over the next several weeks, AHCA will release Action Briefings related to the guidance updates. Two new action briefings have been posted to the AHCA Survey Regulatory page for review regarding Professional Standards and the Medical Director.  Each briefing includes an outlineof significant changes made, along with action items facilities may take to achieve compliance in these areas.
