NSNCW_Square.pngWASHINGTON, D.C. The American Health Care Association (AHCA) has announced “Tapestry of Life” as the theme for National Skilled Nursing Care Week® (NSNCW) 2025. The annual observance celebrates the essential role skilled nursing care centers play in providing high-quality, long term and post-acute care to millions of individuals each year. Taking place from Sunday, May 11, through Saturday, May 17, the 2025 theme, “Tapestry of Life,” highlights the vibrant and meaningful stories that weave together the lives of residents, families, caregivers, and other staff. The theme encourages organizations to honor the relationships and moments that create a strong, united tapestry of care and compassion.

“Every resident, caregiver, and staff member in a skilled nursing care center has a story worth celebrating,” said Clif Porter, President and CEO of AHCA. “National Skilled Nursing Care Week reminds us to take a moment to truly see and honor those stories—the laughter, the triumphs, and even the challenges that bind us together as a community.”

Established by AHCA in 1967, NSNCW begins annually on Mother’s Day. Skilled nursing care centers across the country are encouraged to plan events that celebrate the vital role of caregivers and the meaningful lives of residents. Participants are invited to share their stories and moments on social media leading up to and during NSNCW using the hashtag #NSNCW.

AHCA will release a comprehensive planning guide, themed gifts and decorations, and promotional toolkit in late February. The 2025 logo and graphics are now available on the NSNCW website.
