SCOTUS to Hear on Temporary Protected Status Program

Legislative; Workforce

On March 16, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) announced that it will hear oral argument during the second week of its April argument session, which runs from April 27-29, on whether the Trump administration can end the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program that allows several thousand Syrians and approximately 350,000 Haitians to live in the United States temporarily. The work permits for these individuals are still valid and until decided otherwise as this now continues through the legal system.  The court’s eventual ruling is likely to follow by late June or early July.
